Reflection
I really enjoyed this assignment for a variety of different reasons. I think coming up with a storyline and how to convey it without any voices was a challenge for me. At first, I had so many other elements and scenes, but I realize that it just seemed too long for a simple message I was trying to present. Therefore, I did cut down a lot of my scenes and just had the girl in bed with her phone. My video is simple when it comes to the message I am trying to show. A girl is in bed, she then gets texts from a boy she likes, but then he breaks her heard. She realizes in the end that she doesn't actually need him to he happy, she just needs to be happy and love herself.
My video style and direction may seem very simple or messy, but that is what I wanted. I was really inspired by this one music video that I love, it's called "Running Up That Hill" by Meg Myers. That song and music video is something that I always go back to because of the colors, the song, and what it was meant for. Those three things were the main things that I wanted in my video. I wanted it to be kid-like with bright colors, I wanted a song that can stick to someone's head, and I wanted the drawings to be real. I want people to look at the drawings and relate to them in whatever way they do.
